Today, I went outside to talk to Joseph about the caulk in my tub. He ended the conversation thanking me for putting my degrees up. I was confused until he explained further. He said that the pest man was with him in my apartment yesterday, saw my degrees, and asked why in the world would this girl work for MW for almost nothing instead of getting a high salary somewhere else. Joseph said that it's because we do it not for wealth but for God's work, which is so much more rewarding. They then talked about God and about how He provides even when there seems to be no way. This man apparently is all about making as much money as possible and his boss keeps talking to him about it. Wow. I am moved how much God can use the smallest of things to make a much needed conversation. ...and that my degrees are worth something, even if I'm not "using" them. I do need a reminder every now and then, too. =)

As of 8:30 this morning, my beloved #19 molar (second bottom left) left the world of Shannon's mouth. I've been very attached to this tooth for many years. I've had a root canal and crown on said tooth when I was twelve. Two years ago, I had an apico surgery on this tooth. Today, it was time to let it go. The root had cracked internally and just wanted to be let go. Goodbye my faithful friend. I will truly miss you.

(I am now in the bed with painkillers, liquids, and ice. It was scary; I've never been awake for a tooth being pulled--only wisdom teeth and asleep.)

Today was a first for me...I got my first ticket. I was on the phone, reporting my toilet, when I saw a cop at the 4 way near my work. I stopped and then waved when he let me go first. I, of course didn't have my seat belt on--I do MOST of the time...just not ALL. I was about to pull in, when flashing lights...

I gave him my license and insurance. He said that it was expired. I freaked--thinking I had the wrong card in the car. He gave me a ticket for both. He was super nice but still. I tore my car apart and then went home to look. NO WHERE was my card. My parents called the insurance company to send me a faxed copy. After all day of worry, while I was waiting for Meme, I looked at my card that I had given him. It WAS the right card. He just read the start date which would LOOK like the expiration date below. GAHHHH. Well, I can get the insurance offense off, but not the belt charge. $138 to learn a valuable lesson that I am NOT above the law.

There is an epic battle. Hello, the entire plot of the movies are good vs. evil battles. I loved how both had Faramir as a sexy warrior. Both had the classic helmit shape. Similar battle scenes...the cliffs = the battle of Helm's Deep. Little army take on big army of freaks and one/two hits each takes down bad guys. Many arrows and stab wounds take out the heroes.

There's a gollum. Gollum in LOTR. Crazy hunchback with long fingers in 300. Both act heroic as they are betraying you.

There are orcs. Orc species are rampant in LOTR. They cleverly disguise themselves in the forms of the evil priests and freaky mystics in 300. I don't remember razor claws in ancient Greek history. Eh?

There is a pompous super god-like person. Sauron was just really big and bright. I don't remember Lee press-on nails, drag queens, and body glitter in the ancient world, either. xerxes, wow.

There are magic men. Gandalf is a great man. The immortals, not so much.

Strong queens. I think the queen in 300 (forgive me, names have escaped me) is like Eowyn in strength, Arwen in outfits, standing near doorways looking pensive, hair styles, and necklace-giving.

Rarrrr Kings Aragorn is still my favorite king. However, both men were brave and thought only of love and honor of their people.

Capes with fancy pins. Leaf versus Triangle/circle pins. I half expected Galadriel to show up.

Tall troll-like men. Both use axes. One stabbed in head, one stabbed in mouth.

One cool thing I thought about was that the colors were similar and just ...wow. The tree of people sculpted by x-man. Meme pointed out, rather profoundly, that it was the antagonist of the tree of life.

Overall, I thought it was stunning.

Where is my Darcy-resembling, artistic, singing, (left-handed like me??), instrument-playing, fun, cuddly, sense of humor-having, brings me sunflowers for no reason, witty, sarcastic, movie-loving, computer savvy, pirate-loving, understanding, loving, SMART, tall, dark, Christian man? I guess watching the Grammys, too? The cool thing to think of, unless I'm marrying a man 30 years my junior, he's out there now. Doing fun things, getting ready for me. Gah, bear with my moment of sentimentiality. It's just I am so ready to be serious with someone...well at least I think I am. Are you ever really? the tale of Shannon's Horrible, Terrible, Aweful, No Good, Very Bad 2 days.

(this is not a complete account- for this is xposted at my private blog/this is a public blog - had to edit some details *)

Thursday morning, I wake up to find out that my bank account is terribly close to being over because * of an error (should have had a TON more money than 8 dollars). I called the person responsible * and was told, "Yes I am very aware of this." Then I was * humiliated by someone. She walked off and I proceeded to cry under my hoodie. * I talked to someone else about this and later resolved the manner - still felt bad though.

Then, I go to the dentist and was told that YES I would have to get my crown replaced. The bill was over 900 hundred-- BUT THANK GOD, I know the dentist from Calvary Baptist and she's taking off 33%-- $548 after discount. AND they are willing to make payment arrangments instead of demanding the money up front.

Then, I went for lunch. By the time I got back to work, I got sick (from all the nerves and stuff) and threw up everything-- and other problems. After I got off work, I went home to take a shower and get ready for MW. Then I got the credit card, picked Shay up, *, and went to HEB. * I was late for Kids Cafe and then ran late serving the kids. After work, I went to volunteer at the Clinic. I had a checkup on my new Cymbalta and other med. The Dr. was SO late and then wanted to check my blood sugar. Harry tried FOUR times to prick my finger and get blood before he got enough. I felt bad for him...and didn't think too highly of him either at that point. Then, afterward, I went to the med room to help bottle pills and sat down (like all the time) on the stool. As soon as I put my foot on the runner, the whole thing broke. IN FRONT OF all these people. None laughed, thank God. I was mortified. I left at 9- even though they were still going. (Usually, we get out early = around 8.) I then finished my parents' taxes, along with a huge fight among the three of us. I went to bed late- thankful the day was over....it continued.

Yesterday, I got up and had the feeling to get fully dressed (usually I wear my pjs) to take Aaron to school. Something told me not to take Waco Drive, but I still did. I was at the light at WDr and Valley Mills when I heard this horrible crash behind me--and in time to see the car hit the truck then truck hit me. I wasn't hurt nor miraculously my car. I got out and assured the man in the truck and the boy who hit the man. We all had to sit there until they moved us to the parking lot nearby. The man's truck and my car was drivable. Not so much the boy's car. All I could do was pray, call people, pray, and shake. I saw the man hit the windshield and then lean over in the seat. All my stuff was knocked backward into the backseat. I had the wrong insurance card in the car on top of it. However, I didn't get in trouble, thank God. Then we all got to leave almost an hour later. I called in for the am. Then I went to vic's for a bit. Then took a long bath. Then went to Adrienne's and Janettes for lunch. I suggested it would be fun to go play afternoon Bingo at RedMan's. Vick agreed. We watched this woman spend over a hundred on pull tab cards and bingo machines, only to win 60 dollars. As we left, my bingo partner got a * call . She then handed me the phone * ********(this was a very unpleasant convo) GRRRRRR... so I walked to work and got off about 5:30, ***more not-happy stuff . I got in my car at home and got Shay. We saw Meme at Walmart and she was surprised to see me--she thought I had been more hurt (Man, I am still sore, of course.) Then Shay and I brought pizza to Vic's to eat before deciding to go back to the late night bingo session. We took Stormy with us. Who would we see but that same afore-mentioned woman. I said that she was so going to win. She said she had--in the previous session at 7. She had won 700. (she also won over 100 in our session-- I still wouldn't have risked so much to win.)

I went to bed at 2:30, after seeing Vic and watching "First Knight" on TBS. I stayed in bed til 10:30. **VERY LONG STORY SHORT, I had another set of unpleasant convos with Waco people. ** I hung up and was subjected to several people coming in to get quarters for laundry (I am over collection and distribution of laundry change for the Ark). Later after a wonderful convo with moma, I decided to have a Shannon day. I went to eat, pay bills, and see "The Queen." Of course, I listened to "Irreplaceable" about 4 times to get empowered. I was so happy after the movie--not doing what others wanted, not having to rearrange my schedule to meet others' sched. Then I went to the mall for a bit and get groceries. I now want to read about "Lost" in the TV Guide and watch a movie with this beautiful man.

has not fallen off the face of the earth....well hmmm monday, I had work, class, work, and more work...i got to serve the lord's supper in the pastor's conference...thought i would faint and/or drop all the elements and/or run away....tuesday, more work and class...same for wednesday...yesterday, i made an Orange Crush page....also fulfilled a life long dream to go to chuckie cheese's...i kicked butt on skee ball and some twistie metal game....alex and i rode some jurassic park game/ride that made me scream when it picked us up...lol...i have pics but i am at school now, so i must post them when i get home...then i came home and just watched my two fave shows of 'friends' and 'w&g'....then today is the big day for the cop 'ride-around'...where i have to ride with a cop for 3 hours tonight from 9-12 for my urban missions class...i am excited, nervous, and dreading it all at the same time...i would be studying for my cross-cultural living class about now, but thank goodness it's now a take home exam...wooo...well i better get off here and actually do something

tons of stuff has happened but mostly to do with work or school....this week was great...i worked for most of it...thurs. was the best! we had a field trip around waco, i invited a guy to the movies, dee and i went out for lunch, good work experiences, etc etc etc...*think "king and i"...friday almost as good...saturday, dd and i went to see "ttt" and with delayne "how to loose a guy in 10 days" ...i found cool books today after church at bn and yesterday, "norah jones" cd and "htlagitd soundtrack"...just all around good stuff!

my 25th was one of the best ever!! last night, at carol's, the kids gave me a japanese artist meditation kit with journal and incense and other cool stuff in it...then i got home and dd took me to olive garden...my friends jamie and rachel sat at the table behind us...delayne was our waiter--they sang to me and lit a candle in a breadstick...lol..then dd and i went to best buy where i got avril and stevie wonder cds...then we got home and cass came over with a makeup kit and a rope for tristian...then i watched "center stage" with dd...then to bed...then i got up and got ready for my big day today...i got to the school at 8.40 to meet kimberly and cj...cj gave me a big box, and it ended up being a wonderful wooden jewelry box...then we left and went to fort worth...we then got to the city...i "ohhh"ed at the buildings and the exchanges...then we parked and went into the kimball art museum..we were lucky! today, they had no admission fee, and i could take pics in there! so i saw two monets and got my pic taken with them...i even touched the signature of one...then we went to the gift area where i got 2 prints, 4 post cards, a poster, and a monet art book..then we ate greek food at "the greek house" near tcu (kimberly's gift to me)...then we talked for a couple hours...we left at 2 on the way to waco...we stopped for krispy kreme donuts and in west at the chech bakery..then we got back, and i rested for a bit...then jamie picked me up to take me out for my bday as her gift...we went to jason's deli where i had a great bowl of veggie soup..there we met up with candace and leslie...then we left for the movies...we met up with dd for "how to loose a guy in 10 days" ....it was sooooo good!! i laughed my butt off...
i am exausted!!!

eeeeee...i was sung to by my dad over the phone this am at 6...then at work, ms. nancy came in with a huge cake...and wanted me to get in a pic with it...then ms nancy cut it and we got a piece...then ms nancy gave me my card and coffee LOL! while i made community coffee...the cake was eaten by all the staff and student workers and they all sang to me LOL....then it was time to get to work...we did over 100 name tags today, and we still have 800 more to go! then ms dorothy came in and came up behind me and sat this in front of me while i worked.......i was so happy to see what all i got...15 sharpies, glitter glue, and clips along with ms. nancy's cake and card!!! i also got a great card from melissa and lots of hugs and pats on the shoulder from people and tons of HB! I work with the best people!...then i went to class and everyone sang to me...i blushed and tried to hide my face by putting my books down on the ground and settling in for anthropology and cross-cultural studies...then i went by fazoli's and got a small piece of lasagna..then i came home and got a great email from choi!

eeee i hate being so far behind on blogging....well this week was work, school, work....then friday people thought it was my bday cause of a mixup in the office so i got bday cards early..the cj called me at carol's and asked if i would like to go out so we did...the rest of the party (4 german-speakers) decided while we were driving by calling cj's cell...first red lobster, then fudruckers, then golden corral, then applebee's...so we finally got in and ate there...then cj and i went to see delayne at og and get dessert...this am, i did laundry and errands..then i returned movies and went to cj's to help her pack..then i came home and watched "glass house" ...ftp is not letting me update my pages grrrrr...and aol is a butt..so i can't change my blog pic nor update fls...i laughed when i found out that dd just got a gmap...clare and i had one since aug and spammed both..so to follow in dd's steps i not only have the original link on my main page...it is now also on here...spam it if you wish...i must go get dressed for an actual chinese dinner party at cj's...her roomie and other chinese friends are making dumplings and other dishes...eeee

not blogged in like 3 days...sat was fun...delayne, rach, jamie, and cj came over for 'trading spaces'...sunday, we had pizza and later dd came home while cj was over watching the people choice awards...then yesterday was torture....i had interviews and then 'church planting' for 4 and half hours...then i came home and watched 'signs' and 'barbershop' while cass came over...today, i had class--urban missions--and found out that i have to do a 'ride-along' with a cop for a night shift, 2 hours of 'nightlife' and several other fun things...eee...then i worked til noon on the pastors conference...then i went to a planning meeting for student life..then i came home for a min...then went to michaels and saw a truck from the exact place i'm from in ms...EXCITING woo..then i went to best buy and got a car cd player with a tiny remote, the chicago soundtrack, "about a boy," and "thumbtanic" lol...then i went to work..then i went to 'college ministry' ...i love grear..we got out after only 15 min...wooo..now i am talking about my "nightlife" plans with delayne lol

this morning, i talked to delayne before church and then went to sunday school...lol we were touching knees the whole time 'cause of the cramped spaces ...that in itself is totally nothing...but it was something that didn't help the rumors that we are "together"...nor the fact that he disputed my movie list by saying, "that movie did not come out in 2002...i saw one of those with her on friday night."...nor the fact that we sat together in church...nor the fact that he kept tapping me on the arm...nor the fact that he shot me in the eye with a straw paper....people are so quick to put the single 20's together...lol it's so funny...the old people give you these "uh huh we knew you would get together" looks while the 30 and 40 year olds just come out and ask you if you are...it's just too funny to think about...and afterwards rachel, kimberly, delayne, and i met up with the fbc group of jamie, candace, kerry, and cj...they left early...we stayed in whattaburger for 3 and a half hours...we also took pics cause all four of us were in the exact same colors....who knew whattaburger could be so fun? *smiles* eeee

well last night was soo fun! lol i met up with jamie at the starplex and then delayne showed up...we got great seats and the movie finally started after a ton of previews...the movie was spectacular...i felt like i was in ny watching the broadway production...all three of us were dressed up and it was just grand...the music was wonderful..i didn't know that rene and richard gere could sing..after the fast-paced action, we left the theater and headed to olive garden...i sang "all that jazzzzzzzzzzz" the whole way there...when i got outta the car, i had a fight with the curb and the curb won...i ended up with wicked bruises and cuts and a hurt ankle...but after a few tears in the restroom and some cleaning up i was fine and we had a wonderful time at the restaurant for 3 hours...he works there so all his friends came over and treated us like kings..it was so fun..then i came home and fell asleep before i could watch "aladdin" lol..i had saidt o jamie and delayne that i was going home to watch it ...overall it was just so wonderful!
Today i watched the taped conan from last night...nathan lane and sean astin were the guests..it was soooo funny!! conan did his "nerdy sci-fi person" "watch out frodo, look to mt. doom!" lol

well we just got back from "gangs of new york"...it had a very very high bpm bloodshed per minute...it was set with the backdrop of the civil war so it would be approapriate for such a time piece.....the movie was good if you overlook some nudity which i was surprised that it wasn't more and only a handful of curse words...if you can't stand blood, don't see the movie...but it was a good movie and does deserve any nominations it gets...it leaves you to think a lot about history and how immigrants were treated

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! WOOOOOO

last night we went to walmart to get the pics of al, steve, and aj (my niece and nephews), and i got one of my fave sean astin movies "rudy"...then we went to toys r us and best buy ...but both closed at 6 --the exact time we got there...so then we went to target...i found my trivia pursuit 20 year one wooooo for 3 dollars cheaper than walmart...and i got a lotr risk game (it was the only one there and it was a return item--the 'one ring' is missing...how ironic!, i thought of you deeder) and got a few cool beans frames...then on the way home jamie called and said that she was coming home that night for us to hang out..wooo...so then we got home and at 9 i headed back out to cj's nye party...we played games and ate and talked..then we all (9 of us) headed in two cars to rachel v.'s property to shoot fireworks...it literally was an adventure with tall grass, cacti, and the safari feeling...then we got out and froze while shooting all kinds of fws especially these tx sized sparklers..they were HUGE...and then we came back to cj's and i came home about 2...this am, i went out looking for breakfast but all was closed..then i had to get gas at the diamond shamrock..all the workers came to the door and waved at me...ms bonnie came out and talked to me..then i came home and we got ready and ate breakfast at ihop...then at walmart i got the greatest hits of elton john, the wild thornberries soundtrack (paul simon music), josh groban, and wilson pickett...i was stoked! then i came back and chatted a bit with clare...

well this is me being a good helper at truett...i am working this and next week...there was some confusion as to how i was to get into the building...i had to go home, get my cell and then call the police to let me in..and then there was confusion as to which office i was to work in...mehhh..anywhoo christmas was fun, i got moma a suit, suitcase, dvd player, and a travel electronic scrabble game...i got daddy a dutch oven, tools, accessory tool stuff, pjs, a carpenter calcuator like the one that got stolen, and a bob the builder action set...they got me various snowmen items such as dishes, kitchen towels, frames, and figurines...they are awesome and so are my gifts...i also got some boyds bears and happiness perfume mmmm...etc etc etc...we had a good time...later, moma and i went to see 'catch me if you can'...i was surprized at how good it was...we almost stayed for 'gangs of ny' but decided to see it later since it is 3 hours...so then i watched 6 hours of the sopranos...since i am watching all first season, it's on tape...so now i just had to run home for something...meh..i am locked up in here and have to get a staff member to get me out and in...help help i am being oppressed lol

meh...unlike everyone else in the world...ttt experience sucked...not the movie..but well i couldn't hear half the movie...i was surrounded by stupid rednecks and dumb boys who decided to talk through the entire movie...even the fighting scenes...couldn't enjoy gollum *my new favorite character besides SAM sighhhhh* because the dumb preppy boys decided to laugh at him the entire time...and the cell phones...they decided to ring on cue...MOUNT DOOM BOOM BOOM RIIIIIIINNNGGGG....at least half of the people didn't TALK on the phone...one girl in front of me decided to text message people the entire time...WHYY???....ok dd has a fun recap of the event...i did think of her mucho throughout the day...*i bet dd is eeeing at eowyn right this min.; i bet dd is not even seeing how aragorn is looking at her...etc.etc.etc...lol..i love you dd* ...i agree with choi, not enough pippin and merry and YEA treebeard! i was like ha sauraman, you're going down......sam, sam as i have always said was utter greatnesssssss...he was the bestttttt...and is worth it to see again because of 1. dd's reactions and b. sam! ........and ok i retract my statements that eomer (misspelled?) is hidiously ugly...he's not the cutest but RARRR in the movie...the entire theater cheered at legolas' amazing flying act on a horse

what a veryyy good day with my best friend!...this am i got up and dd was awake...we decided to go out and get breakfast and come back to watch a funny bob hope movie "the pirate and the princess"..then she dropped me off for class and rob took me home cause we got out late..then i picked dd up and we had thai food at bankok royale..then we went to att store and toys r us...i found a friends game that i want SOOO bad..then i showed dd homies dolls for 50 cents in the toy machines...so we got one and i got a cute little cheap o bracelet..then i dropped her and went to the hospital for visitation and class...i came home and watched tv and crocheted...then jamie came over to watch "survivor" and then we went out to eat at baris' III (great italian)..we met up with rachel and britney..then we had these two GORGEOUS waiters ..one was sooo clueless like pheeb's twin ursela on "mad about you"..then we went to barnes and noble and invited dd...we sat there and talked forever..then we just got home...what a big big blessing to spend a surprize day with your best bud!! wooo! (clare i miss you!!!)

eh..lol...it's not that bad..anywho..i got up and brought back the movies, stopped for breakfast, went to class...i helped jamie study til my class started...she and others found it strange that i eat jam on my sausage biscuit...which totally shocked me..she said even ketchup would be more normal...gahhh realizes i am in tx...anywho..she did manage to sneak me a kk doughnut for lunch..i read and then went to my other class..afterwards, i came home to get tristian and then stopped for a late lunch (2.45)..then i got the kids..they were ok today...their little pippin chased tris all over me..she shook til we left..then i dropped them off and went by the banko..then i came home and watched the news and later fixed myself some waffles..then i guess cause i don't have ENOUGH drama in my life, i bit down wholly and totally on the end of the fork...it was horrible..i thought i actually broke my 3 front left teeth...i dropped the plate and aghhh anyway..hopefully it will stop hurting so i don't have to go to the dentist...i looked at the fork..it literally had 2 dents in it where i bit..dd is right i do need caution tape all around me everywhere i go...threefold is finally up and going..check it out! one more day til fall break!!!! =)

today, i decided to be brave and go to school since i didn't the whole week...last night, i did my homework to get ready for the erm class (ethnographic research and methodology)...then this morning, i got moma to drop me off...i went to see jamie in the office..she said that tuesday, a guy hit her outside of truett enough to do 3k worth of damage..sadness...after talking to her, i went to class and there were a bunch of guests there for preview..i really like that class and it was the only one i attempted to go to this week...we had a good time and i almost forgot that i was sick..then after class, denise went to her car to get my order that i made a couple weeks ago..i got 3 bracelets at her party..then moma picked me up..dd asked when moma and i were gonna go see "sweet home alabama" and decided to go with us at 2...just as dd called cass to go see "red dragon" with her after "s.h.a.", cass rang the door bell...funny..so we all went...then they went to the other movie and we went home..then we decided to go walk around walmart and just have a good time..we got home around 8..while i was out, i saw charla and her dave, and dave from truett in the parking lot...then i came home and watched on IFC "run lola run"...moll was right a while back..that movie IS good! i am so glad i taped it...it's one of those 'art house' type movies that i like to see...i think it's the dreaded franka as in elijah and franka...but i highly recommend it...MEH (yeah the daily 'meh') school tomorrow am...

mehhh... well HAPPY BIRTHDAY to STEVEN and TIM...mehhh no post yesterday.. ok went to class, to walmart, dropped dd off...went to toys r us and got several carebears...after 20 years i finally got my tenderheart!! ...then i came home and ate...went to the library to meet jamie, did my ethnographic research observation at dd's store...then i came home in time to meet melissa and cass for the greek festival...it was fun..we met matt, becky, cj, jamie, ericka, and rachel there...i bought a mug, a "kiss me, i'm greek" pin, and a bracelet...my friend mike came up and kissed the top of my head...then cj and i went up and did the dance..while i kept saying "opah" (yahoo/awesome)...then we went by and picked up dd from work...then this morning, i went to dd's store before church...then matt sat next to me at church...we made rachel mad by matt wearing my bracelet and i his class ring..then we went to jamie's for veal and phase ten...i came home and slept...shakes fist at sinus trouble...then i picked cass up for tracy's party...then i got a paper cut on my eyebrow from a catalogue..don't ask..lol..then cass and i picked dd up and went to olive garden...delayne was our waiter...then we had a good ole time there...delayne and i did sugar shots lol..dd was worried...but rather than getting hyper, i got sleeply..the we dropped cass off and now i am waiting for the ttt trailer...YAWN

lol yesterday, i went to school, went out to lunch at Bankok Royale with Matt and Jamie...then i went to Walmart and got "Panic Room" from Blockbuster..then I did my visitation at the hospital..then i went groc. shopping and made dd a cake and rice krispy treats..then jamie came over and stayed til 9...then i watched the movie and went to bed..this morning, i started on my paper on my laptop at truett...then i had class til 2.20...then i worked on final retreat money stuff..then i came homeeee and talked to CLAREEEEEEE...i miss her sooo much..and moll and choiiii they are never on when i am on..which is NEVER any moreee lol...now i must finish my paper for tomorrows class (yes i have a sat class!)
